Nag Tibba is located in the Tehri-Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Nag Tibba peak is the highest peak in the lower Garhwal Himalayas, at 3,022m (9,915ft). In fact the Nag Tibba range of mountains derives its name from the Nag Tibba peak. Nag Tibba trek is one the most easily accessible treks near Mussoorie & Dehradun. Its close proximity to Dehradun & hill station Mussoorie makes it one of the best weekend treks near Delhi. Nag Tibba trek is a great winter trek destination as the trail offers a good snow experience from December to early March. The trek offers panoramic campsites, dense & pristine forest trail and breathtaking Himalayan views from the Nag Tibba summit at 3,022 m.

Who can do Nag Tibba trek ?
Nag Tibba trek is an easy to moderate level trek, perfect for beginners as well as seasoned hikers who want to explore a Himalayan trail. Some patches of trail are challenging (especially the first 1.5 km high gradient rocky trail) but overall its a doable trek for first timers. The trek requires an average level of fitness & recommended for 7+ age group.

1. What is the difficulty level of Nag Tibba trek ?
Nag Tibba is an easy to moderate level trek on a mix of rocky & forest trail. The first 1-1.5 km of the trail can be little challenging for beginners but overall its a doable trek for first timers.
2. Is Nag Tibba trek for beginners ?
Yes, its a highly recommended trek for beginners as it gives a rich insight into Himalayan trekking within a span of 2 days. However, some portions of the trail are high gradient which can be bit challenging for beginners.
3. How long is the Nag Tibba trek ?
The total trek is 18 km (up/down) i.e. 9 km one way. On first day, you trek from Pantwari to Base camp (5 km approx.) and on Day 2 you trek from Base camp to Nag Tibba summit (4 km). Trail down 4 km from summit to Base camp, have lunch and then again descend down further 5 km to Pantwari.
4. Is it necessary to hire a guide on this trek ?
Yes, it is absolutely highly recommended to take a guide for Nag Tibba trek whether you are trekking solo or in a group.
5. What is the best season for this trek ?
The best season for Nag Tibba trek is from October to March.
6. What is the snow season on Nag Tibba trek ?
Usually, December to early March is a good time for a snow trek to Nag Tibba.
7. Is this trek suitable for kids ?
It is ideally recommended for 7+ age kids.
8. Is this trail safe for women & solo travelers ?
Yes, in fact all the Himalayan trails are quite safe for women & solo travelers. People of the region are very warm, caring & hospitable in nature.

Camping tent accommodation (2-3 per tent).
10. What is the washroom facility on Nag Tibba trek ?
Nag Tibba region is a reserved forest area where only temporary campsites are permitted by the forest deptt. So there are camping tents alongwith toilet tents on the campsite.
11. Do we have to give tip money to guides / porters ?
Guides & porters in the region will never demand any tip money from you. They just need their daily wages paid by the trek operator. However, it is always encouraging if one can give a little tip to them if they provide good services.
12. Which currency is accepted during transit or in nearby villages on this trek ?
Indian currency (INR) is accepted here.
